IELTS ONE SKILL RETAKE NOW EMPOWERING TEST TAKERS IN CANADA

IELTS, the world’s most popular English language test, is thrilled to introduce IELTS One Skill Retake in Canada. It offers test takers another opportunity to attain the results they need as they progress towards their global learning and career success.

IELTS One Skill Retake is an innovative feature which has been carefully designed to provide test takers with the tools they need to reach their educational and career goals, offering unmatched flexibility and convenience. IELTS One Skill Retake empowers candidates to retake a single skill – Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking – if they fall short of their desired score on their initial attempt. With widespread acceptance and recognition, including endorsements from prominent institutions globally, IELTS One Skill Retake has become an integral part of the IELTS experience, and is available at select IELTS test centres nationwide.

Key features of IELTS One Skill Retake are:

Fairness and flexibility:

IELTS One Skill Retake was created after listening to customer feedback. It means that test takers who may not have performed at their best in one skill on test day are able to retake just one section of the test.  It provides a fairer, more flexible option for test takers than retaking the entire four skills test.

“IELTS One Skill Retake improves fairness by providing an opportunity to retake a single skill if the test taker feels their original performance was not representative of their language proficiency level,” explains Warwick Freeland, Managing Director – IELTS, IDP Education.

“We know that with the right preparation and support, our test takers can achieve their best score on test day. IELTS One Skill Retake provides test takers with an opportunity to retake a single skill if they feel their performance in the first instance did not represent their English proficiency,” reinforces Andrew Mackenzie, Director of IELTS at the British Council.

Widespread Acceptance and Recognition:

IELTS One Skill Retake is recognised and accepted by prestigious organisations such as UK Visas and Immigration, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. A growing number of universities and institutions each month including members of the U15 such as University of Alberta, Western University, University of Ottawa, and Dalhousie University accept OSR and many other HEIs such as Brock University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Memorial University. Test takers can verify whether their institution accepts IELTS One Skill Retake on either the IDP website or the British Council’s IELTS website.

“We are committed to helping customers achieve their best scores and supporting organisations in selecting suitable candidates.” Says Warwick Freeland, Managing Director – IELTS, IDP Education,

Andrew Mackenzie, Director of IELTS at the British Council also mentioned that: “Organisations that accept the IELTS One Skill Retake can offer their candidates the flexibility to achieve entry requirements without compromising on applicant quality. The IELTS partners are proud of this initiative that reinforces our commitment to helping test takers achieve their full potential”.

Availability in Canada:

IELTS One Skill Retake is currently available in Canada for both Academic IELTS and General IELTS. It is presently accessible at 31 test centres across the country and will be introduced to more centres over the coming months.

Convenient Booking and Usage:

Test takers can book an IELTS One Skill Retake within 60 days of their original IELTS test date. The format and timing are identical to the individual skill section in a standard IELTS test. However, test takers can save time by focusing on one skill and bypassing the other three. After completion, test takers will receive a second Test Report Form (TRF) with their new score, which can be used for migration and study purposes. Depending on their score, test takers can select whether to use their old or new TRF for the skill they retook.

IELTS internationally:

IELTS One Skill Retake is steadily gaining recognition for migration and study purposes around the world. IELTS is actively collaborating with government departments and organisations to promote their acceptance of IELTS One Skill Retake. Test takers are encouraged to stay updated on our website for the latest developments.

Availability in Multiple Locations:

Beyond Canada, IELTS One Skill Retake is now available at selected IELTS test centres globally including Australia, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
