IELTS introduces Writing on Paper option for IELTS on Computer

 In News

Test takers in Canada will soon have more flexibility when taking IELTS on Computer. IELTS will soon introduce a new Writing on Paper option, allowing candidates to complete the Writing section by hand while still enjoying the benefits of the computer-based test. Test takers will soon be able to book upcoming test sessions, with the first available session launching on 1 July.

With IELTS on Computer (Writing on Paper), test takers will complete the Listening and Reading sections on computer, while the Writing section will be completed using pen and paper on an official IELTS answer sheet as the questions will be on the computer screen. The Speaking test will continue to be conducted live with a certified IELTS examiner.

This new option is designed for people who feel more comfortable writing their responses rather than typing. It combines the familiarity of writing by hand with the flexibility and convenience of IELTS on Computer.

IELTS on Computer and IELTS on Computer (Writing on Paper) have the same:

  • Test format
  • Scoring system
  • International recognition
  • Security standards

Test takers benefit from:

  • Write your way – Complete the Writing section by hand using pen and paper
  • Faster results – typically available within 2 days
  • Greater availability – 3 daily session, 7 days a week.
  • One Skill Retake availability

The new Writing on Paper option will be available for IELTS General Training delivered on computer in selected locations across Canada.
